The Boathouse
Llanbedrog, North Wales

Welcome :

Welcome to the friends & family website for The Boathouse. If you have ever seen a photograph of Llanbedrog's picturesque beach, you will undoubtedly have seen our beautiful holiday home, nestling right on the water's edge.

Originally fishermen's cottages, The Boathouse (No. 1 Glan y Mor) was bought by our family from the Glyn-y-Weddw Estate over 35 years ago and turned into a holiday home that enjoys a fantastic location and great accommodation.

Llanbedrog boasts a clean sandy beach that stretches for four miles, from the headland above The Boathouse to the edge of Pwllheli harbour. At low tide, the property stands above 8 square miles of flat, safe sand and rockpools. Gentle tides and an undisturbed view of the entire beach ensure peace of mind for families with children whilst at high tide the sea actually laps against the boundary wall of the property!

The remarkable location is enhanced by the truly stunning vista across Cardigan Bay to the majestic mountains of Snowdonia and offers breathtaking and constantly changing views depending on the season and the time of day.

The closest restaurant (The Galley) is 200 yards along the beach, and the nearest pub is a short walk up the hill. The village also has a great shop selling local produce, an historic church and the stunning Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw art gallery with tea shop and beautiful grounds. Llanbedrog even has its own shooting and riding school if you prefer activity to pure relaxation. Should you decide to move away from the village, Abersoch is just a couple of miles away and at low tide you can walk around the headland onto Abersoch Warren Beach. Pwllheli is less than four miles away and offers all the usual amenities and a pretty harbour.
